USU Hockey |
The past little while in the Hazard household has been... busy and full of ups and downs. We spent the entire week, and all of last weekend, sick in bed with a cold that nearly killed both of us! It doesn't help that we just kept passing it back and forth to each other! Troy would have it one day, and I would be fine, then the next I would have it and he would be fine! But I think with the massive amounts of Vitamin C Troy kept making us take we finally got rid of it!! Things have been busy as school winds down, we've both been doing tests, final projects, and presentations like crazy! And I just got hired as an undergraduate researcher, working with a professor in the engineering education department, so training and getting started with that has taken some time. Lets just say we where both excited to finally see the weekend!! :) On Thursday it was two of our good friend's birthdays so to celebrate we went out to the hockey game and Buffalo Wild Wings! It was all a blast, except, at the hockey game a girl in our row got hit in the face with a puck, I have never seen so much blood in my entire life! So.... I spent two periods hiding behind Troy and telling him everything he would have to do if a puck hit me in the face!! I was terrified!
Friday we finally did something that has needed to be done for a while! JEEPING!! The off-roading club on campus keeps inviting us to go on one of their outings with them so we finally made time to do it, and you should have seen how excited Troy was!!! OK story time: The first day on our honeymoon we Jeeped up to a beautiful lake in American Fork Canyon... it was amazing, and when we got there and got the tent all set up and stuff Troy turned to me and said, "never let me stop loving the out doors." So lately, I've been feeling a little guilty because with me being pregnant, and it being cold we really haven't gotten out much... And after seeing how happy Troy boy was once we actually got up to the mountains I realized how I really need to work harder to make us get out there more. Don't get me wrong I love Jeeping!! It is hours of uninterrupted couple time, and the best part is, he is trapped in a car so he just has to listen to me talk, and talk, and sing a little, and talk more! Also, I don't even know where we were, somewhere up past Beaver in Logan Canyon but it was gorgeous! We where on the top of the mountain when the sun was setting and it was super pretty!!

Boys and Jeeps
Troy let me shoot his gun from inside the Jeep because I was too cold to get out, I don't know why I'm so afraid every time I shoot it, but I'm getting better! |
This Jeeping trip was especially great because I made all of the boys in the club, be on the look out for the perfect Christmas Tree. As far as I can tell from what sparse details Troy gives me about his life, his family isn't as big on traditions as mine. I LOVE traditions!! So I'm really into us making our own as a couple and family. Troy's not as enthusiastic about it all, but when I told him that I didn't know if we should buy a tree or make it a tradition to go chop down our own he was just excited to use his ax so he voted for chopping one down. This is illegal, depending on where you are, so hopefully we don't get into too much trouble, but some kid we where with told us he thought it was legal in that area, and that was good enough for us!! So we went for it, and we found the cutest, littlest, straightest tree you've ever seen!! We should have probably waited until after Thanksgiving to get one, since I have noo decorations yet and it is just leaning up against a wall in our house, but with what little time we have before Christmas break I decided the longer our house smells like fresh pine the better!!

The happiest!!! |
Saturday I planned on getting ALOT done, I was going to make homemade soup and rolls, bake cookies for the neighbors, work on a project for my new job, start getting Christmas gifts ready, and get completely caught up on my statics homework.... but, half way through the day, Troy found a listing for a snowboard on KSL in Salt Lake and since it was a good deal we dropped everything and hurried down to pick it up. Troy's not really known for doing things small so of course instead of buying one snowboard... he has to buy two. This also made him extremely happy, he was like a kid on Christmas morning... which is good since that probably is his whole Christmas!! hahaha no, I'm happy he finally found one he wants, and I think he is going to sell the other, but for now he just spends most of his time looking at them and waxing them. Driving all the way to Salt Lake wasn't a total waste, we got another date night out of it, if you consider eating at Del Taco a date, which we totally do! And we got to go baby shopping for the first time!!! Up until now I've been pretty afraid to buy anything, or even think about buying anything, for the baby because it just seemed so far away! But March is coming up soon and now I can't really stop myself, I want to buy EVERYTHING!!! She is going to be one very spoiled little girl!!
Today was Sunday, so I finally got caught up on all of my cooking, and I currently decided blogging was more important than statics and math homework (hope my dad isn't reading) so I'll probably save that for tomorrow! But I have to show off these adorable little cookie packages I made for the families we visit and home teach, I was pretty proud of my creativity since we didn't have any paper plates to just bring over treats like normal people! Troy laughed at me, he thinks I'm funnybut I think they are adorable so it's ok! :)
Oh and also, when we went out with friends one of them walked up to me and said "word on the street is that you are getting huge." That made me sad, but it is so true so I figured I better post a bump picture so everyone can see just how "huge" I really am!! Anyway that's life for now, bye! :)
